3-day debate competition begins at IUB Thursday

As an airy breeze fills the atmosphere, hearts and minds of young debaters are now filled with cheers. Independent University, Bangladesh is ready to host 19th Pre-Worlds 2022, a signature event of Bangladesh Debating Council.

Pre-Worlds is a precursor to World School Debating Championship, an equivalent to the world cup of school debating. Independent University, Bangladesh Debating Club will welcome 50 polished teams from schools across the nation to show-case their skills in the art of debating.

The 3-day event will take place from 10 November to 12 November at the lively campus of IUB and is ready to provide the best experience to the guests.

The tournament is sponsored by Independent University, Bangladesh in association with Skitto, to make the tournament a more youthful, IUBDC has collaborated with Well-Food as the snacks partner, Shout as the Youth Partner, Sun Water as the Drinking Partner, Savoy as the Ice-cream Partner, Dan Cake as the Cake partner and Dhaka Prokash as Tournament Partner, to make the tournament lively with all the youth-based brands.

The contest will be composed of 6 preliminary rounds before teams can move on to semi-finals and finals. The adjudication core team will contain some of the most seasoned judges in the debating circuit who have many international and national accolades.
