34 die of Covid-19, fresh cases 12,183 in 24hrs

A total of 34 died from Covid-19 and 12,183 fresh cases were recorded in 24 hours till 8:00 am Sunday, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The current positivity rate is 28.33 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 14.36 percent.
The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 28,363 and the mortality rate at 1.59 percent. Meanwhile, the total number of cases rose to 17,85,332, the news release added.
It also added that a total of 43,006 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours. At least 2,167 patients have recovered from Covid-19 during the period.
The total number of recoveries now stands at 15,65,645 and the recovery rate at 87.69 percent, added the news release.
Of the 34 deceased, 19 were male and 15 were female. Of them, one was between 11-20 years old, one between 21-30, four were between 41-50, four were between 51-60 and 24 were above 60 years old, added the release.
