36 die of Covid-19, fresh cases 12,193 in 24 hours

A total of 36 people died from Covid-19 and at least 12,193 new infections were recorded in 24 hours till 8:00 am on Wednesday, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The press release added that the current positivity rate is 27.43 percent while the total positivity rate stood at 14.51 percent.
The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 28,461 and the mortality rate stands at 1.56 percent. Meanwhile, the total number of cases rose to 18,24,180, added the release.
A total of 44,451 samples were tested across the country in the 24 hours. At least 4,203 patients have recovered from Covid-19 during the period.
The total number of recoveries now stands at 15,75,137 and the recovery rate at 86.35 percent, added the release.
The news release added that of the 36 deceased, 17 were male and 19 were female. Of them, one was between 0-10 years old, two were between 31-40, four between 41-50, seven between 51-60, nine within 61-70, nine between 71-80, and four between 81-90 years old.
