43 die of Covid-19, fresh cases 8,354 in 24hrs

A total of 43 die of Covid-19 and at least 8,354 new infections were recorded in 24 hours till 8:00am on Tuesday, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The news release added that the current positivity rate is 20.03 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 14.67 percent.
The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 28,670 and the mortality rate stands at 1.53 percent. Meanwhile, the total number of cases rose to 18,79,255, added the release.
A total of 41,698 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours. At least 10,800 patients have recovered from Covid-19 during this period.
The total number of recoveries now stands at 16,22,857 and the recovery rate at 86.36 percent, added the release.
The news added that of the 43 deceased, 26 were males and 17 were females. Of them, one was between 0-10 years old, three were within 21-30, four were between 41-50, eight were between 51-60, 10 within 61-70, 11 were between 71-80, five were between 81-90, and one was within 91-100 years old.
