20 die of Covid-19, fresh cases 5,023 in 24hrs

A total of 20 people died of Covid-19 and fresh cases at least 5,023 new infections were recorded in 24 hours till 8:00am on Saturday, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The current positivity rate is 16.50 percent while the total positivity rate stood at 14.69 percent.
The press release added that the total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 28,791 and the mortality rate stood at 1.51 percent. Meanwhile, the total number of cases rose to 19,04,826.
A total of 30,448 samples were tested across the country during this time.
At least 8,821 patients have recovered from Covid-19 during the period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 16,64,802 and the recovery rate at 87.40 percent, added the release.
Of the 20 deceased, 12 were male and eight were female.
The news release added of them, one was between 21-30 years old, two between 31-40, one within 41-50, three between 51-60, four between 61-70, six within 71-80, two between 81-90 and one was between 91-100 years old.
