28 die of Covid-19, fresh cases 4,838 in 24 hours

A total of 28 people died from Covid-19 and at least 4,838 new infections were recorded in 24 hours till 8:00 am Sunday (February 13).

The disclosure came from a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The current positivity rate is 14.85 percent while the total positivity rate stood at 14.70 percent, the press release added.

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 28,819 and the mortality rate stands at 1.51 percent. Meanwhile, the total number of cases rose to 19,09,664, it added.

A total of 32,574 samples were tested across the country in the 24 hours.

At least 13,853 patients have recovered from Covid-19 during the period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 16,78,655 and the recovery rate at 87.90 percent, added the release.

Of the 28 deceased, 20 were male and eight were female.

Of them, one was between 11-20 years old, two between 21-30, one between 31-40, three between 41-50, five between 51-60 and 16 were above 60 years old, added the release.
