34 die of Covid-19, fresh cases 4,746 in 24 hours

A total of 34 people died from Covid-19 and at least 4,746 new infections were recorded in 24 hours till 8:00 am on Tuesday, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The current positivity rate is 13.77 percent while the total positivity rate stood at 14.69 percent.
The news release added that the total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 28,872 and the mortality rate stands at 1.50 percent. Meanwhile, the total number of cases rose to 19,19,102.
A total of 34,458 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours. At least 11,417 patients have recovered from Covid-19 during this period.
The total number of recoveries now stands at 17,03,309 and the recovery rate at 88.76 percent, added the release.
Of the 34 deceased, 21 were males and 13 were females.
The press release added that of them, one was between 11-20, three were between 41-50, four were between 51-60, nine were within 61-70, nine were between 71-80, six were between 81-90, and two were within 91-100 years old.
