16 die of Covid-19, new cases 1,595 in 24 hours

A total of 16 people died from Covid-19 and 1,595 new cases were recorded in 24 hours till 8:00 am Tuesday, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The current positivity rate is 6.77 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 14.61 percent.
The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 28,990 and the mortality rate stands at 1.50 percent. Meanwhile, the total number of cases rose to 19,36,837, added the release.
A total of 23,547 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours. At least 8,357 patients have recovered from Covid-19 during this period.
The total number of recoveries now stands at 17,71,615 and the recovery rate at 91.47 percent, added the release.
Of the 16 deceased, seven were men and nine were women.
The news release added that, of them, one was between 31-40, two were between 41-50, three were between 51-60 and 10 were above 60 years old.
