Zero Covid death reported in four months

Bangladesh reported no COVID-19 death in nearly four months. Before that country recorded zero coronavirus death for first time in late November last year since the pandemic began on March 8, 2020.
"Zero COVID-19 death was posted for the first time on November 20, last year after the deadly virus was detected in the country," Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said in its routine daily statement. The country today reported 217 Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, it added.
"The country reported 1.54 percent Covid-19 positive cases as 14,049 samples were tested in the past 24 hours," Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) sources said.
In the past 24 hours, the combined figure of coronavirus in Dhaka city and upazilas of the district is 160 while no Covid-19 death was reported during the period. The official tally showed that the virus killed 29,112 people and infected 19,49,942 so far, the statement added.
The recovery count rose to 18,64,408 after another 1,600 patients were discharged from the dedicated hospitals during the past one day.
