2 die of Covid-19, new cases 260 in 24 hours

Two people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8:00 am Monday (December 20), according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The total number of deaths stood at 28,050 and the death rate stood at 1.77 percent.
A total of 260 new cases were recorded in the meantime, taking the total number of people infected to 15,81,343, the news release added.
The current positivity rate is 1.30 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 14.01 percent.
Some 19,955 samples were tested across the country in last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, a total of 236 Covid-19 patients have recovered in this period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 15,45,807 and the recovery rate at 97.75 percent.
Of the deceased, both were male and aged between 61-70 years, added the release.
