7 die of Covid-19, fresh cases 3447 in 24hrs

A total of seven people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8:00am Saturday, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country stood at 28,136 and the death rate stood at 1.74 percent.
The news release added that at least 3,447 new infections were recorded during the period, taking the total number of people infected to 16,12,489.
The current positivity rate is 14.35 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.63 percent.
A total of 24,028 samples were tested across the country in the 24 hours. At least 294 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period.
The total number of recoveries now stands at 15,52,600 and the recovery rate at 96.29 percent.
Of the seven deceased, four were men and three women.
The press release added that, of them, one was between 41-50 years old, one between 51-60, three between 61-70 and two between 71-80.
