Bangladesh gets 2.12m AstraZeneca doses from France

Bangladesh has received another 2.12 million AstraZeneca vaccine doses from France through the global sharing platform--COVAX--as a gesture of solidarity to its people in their fight against Covid-19 pandemic.

An Emirates flight carrying the third consignment of 2,126,100 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka last night.

The new doses bring the total number of vaccines donated by France to Bangladesh to 5.38 million so far, according to a statement of the French Embassy in Dhaka.

The government of France has made the sharing of Covid-19 vaccines one of its priorities, in solidarity with the countries hit by the pandemic and in order to help accelerate vaccination coverage on a global scale, the statement said.
