17 die of Covid-19, fresh cases 15,527 in 24 hours

A total of 17 people died of Covid-19 and at least 15,527 new infections were recorded in 24 hours till 8:00am Wednesday, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The news release that the current positivity rate is 31.64 percent while the total positivity rate stood at 14.12 per cent.
The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stood at 28,273 and the mortality rate stands at 1.63 percent. Meanwhile, the total number of cases rose to 17,31,524, it added.
A total of 49,073 samples were tested across the country in the 24 hours. At least 1,052 patients have recovered from Covid-19 during the period.
The total number of recoveries now stands at 15,60,006 and the recovery rate at 90.09 percent, added the release.
Of the 17 deceased, 13 were male and four female. Of them, one was between 11-20 years old, two were within 41-50 years old, three were between 51-60, five were within 61-70, two were within 71-80, one was between 81-90, and three were within 91-100 years old, added the release.
