8 killed, 20 injured in explosion in India's Uttar Pradesh

Eight people, including six members of a family, were killed and more than 20 others injured today in an explosion at a fire crackers factory in Haripur district under India's state of Uttar Pradesh.
The incident occurred in a factory where fire-crackers were being manufactured illegally for the upcoming Diwali festival, media reports said quoting police sources.
"The explosion took place at the house in Yaqoobpur town in Bela police station area on Tuesday morning," Deputy Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Singh told media.
Reports say some labourers could be trapped inside the factory. The critically injured have been referred to a hospital in Kanpur for treatment.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families, his office stated in a tweet in Hindi.
The CM directed district administration officers to go to the spot and oversee rescue and relief measures and extend all possible help to the victims and their families.
