Droupadi Murmu leads by huge margin after 2nd round of counting

After second round of counting, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate Droupadi Murmu is ahead of Opposition nominee Yashwant Sinha by a huge margin.
Of the 1,886 valid votes counted so far, Murmu has bagged 1,349, while Sinha got 537. Once the result is announced, the Election Commission officials will meet the winning candidate to give the election certificate, reports Indian Express.
Going by the support extended by various parties, National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate Droupadi Murmu has a clear edge over Opposition’s Yashwant Sinha in this election. If elected, Murmu will become the first tribal woman to occupy the top constitutional post in the country.
Voting for the Presidential polls concluded on Monday with over 99 per cent of 4,796 eligible electors, including 771 MPs and 4,025 MLAs, taking part in the process.
