Bangladeshi shot dead by gunmen in New York

A Bangladeshi expatriate has been shot dead by gunmen near the Queens and Brooklyn border crossings in New York. The killings took place around 12pm local time on Wednesday near the junction of Forbel Street and Glenmore Avenue in the Cypress Hills of Brooklyn. Police have identified the dead man. His name is Modassar Khandaker (36). He is a Bangladeshi immigrant.
According to police sources, Modassar who was shot by gunmen was rushed to a local Jamaica hospital where doctors pronounced him dead shortly afterwards.
A local neighbor says such violent crimes occur regularly in New York. The Brooklyn police said a police investigation has been launched into the incident.
An unidentified gunman shot him in the head as he parked his Honda CVR in a park near his home on his way home from work in Modassar. He was later taken to a Jamaica hospital by ambulance, where doctors pronounced him dead.
A local expatriate Bangladeshi said that Modassar Khandaker who was shot dead was a Bangladeshi national. He is survived by his wife and a four-year-old son. Brooklyn resident Modassar Khandaker was working at John F. Kennedy International Airport.
