20 names finalized, search committee's next meeting Sunday

The search committee, tasked to propose nominations to constitute the next Election Commission, will finalise 10 names for the post of the chief election commissioner and other election commissioners.
During its fifth meeting, the committee on Saturday finalised 20 candidates and It will sit again tomorrow to finalize the names of 10 people.
Dr Shamsul Arefin, senior secretary (coordination and reform) to the Cabinet Division, confirmed the matter to media.
The meeting began at 11:00am to review the proposed names for CEC and ECs.
Earlier, political parties, eminent citizens and individuals proposed 322 names for CEC and EC posts.
