Dhaka Prokash to achieve excellence by gaining readers’ trust: Speaker

Speaker of the National Parliament Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury on Wednesday observed that Dhaka Prpkash will achieve its excellence by gaining the confidence of the readers.

 “It will be objective news when you will cover a news keeping in mind only a matter before you present it in a way that doesn’t affect any of your personal likes and dislikes,” she said.

The Speaker came up with the observation while addressing the inaugural ceremony of the multi-media news portal at Dhaka Club Limited in the evening.

Members of the cabinet, leaders of various political parties, editors and journalists of various media, writers, poets, actors, musicians, and representatives of the affluent community were present on the occasion.

She also added: “If information is affected by your personal likes and dislikes, it may become subjective or one-sided. In that case, its objectivity will be lost.”

“I always think that it is very important for those who read the news, those who join this online and watch the news of the Dhaka Prokash, their point of view, their wants and needs, their expectations to be fulfilled. I believe that Dhaka Prokash will take those issues seriously,” she added.

Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin also said, “Today we are here at a special time. On the first day of December, the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the month of Victory. The day will be written in gold letters in the pages of history.”

She also observed: “The Dhaka Prokash has started its journey with the theme of ‘Honesty is the power and freedom in good journalism’ and why have they chosen this special theme? That is what the editor of this multi-media news portal said honesty is the power, but it is the eternal truth in all cases, as well as the fact that I love hard.”

On November 1, the logo of the Dhaka Prokash was officially unveiled at a hotel in the capital. A total of seven prominent editors unveiled the logo and since then, hundreds of eminent people from different walks of life have greeted the Dhaka Prokash.

The Dhaka Prokash has come up with a completely new trend. It is a full-fledged multi-media news portal. In addition to text news, the portal also has audio and video news and there are talk shows on contemporary issues.

There will also be e-papers. E-paper will be at the end of the day with daily news and the readers will get a taste of the printed newspaper in the e-paper of Dhaka Prakash.
