Police on Thursday recovered the body of a Dhaka University student with numerous wounds from Hardinge Bridge this morning.

The deceased was identified as Md Mahbub Alam, a second year student of Dhaka University's marketing department and also a resident student of Hazi Mohammad Mohsin Hall, reports BSS.

"We recovered the body with some wounds at his head, face and knee, from the middle of Hardinge Bridge today around 8am. He might have fallen from the roof of a Kushtia-bound train," Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Poradah Railway Police Station Mohammad Monjer Ali told reporters.

The body was handed over to his family members after conducting the post- mortem, he said, adding, "Further legal action will be taken after getting the autopsy report".

Mahbub, hailed from Joypurhat, left his hall last night around 8 pm for Kushtia, said his friend Imran.
