3 die of Covid-19, new cases 243 in 24hrs

A total of three people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8am Friday, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country stood at 27,989 and death rate reached at 1.77 percent, the news release added.
It added that some 243 new infections were recorded during the period, taking the total number of people infected to 15,77,070.
At present, the current positivity rate is 1.40 percent while the total positivity rate stood at 14.41 percent.
In the last 24 hours, a total of 17,387 samples were tested across the country. Some 225 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this time.
The total number of recoveries stood at 15,41,886 and the recovery rate at 97.77 percent, it added.
Of the dead, two were male and one female. Of them, two were between 41-50 years old and one between 61-70.
On 8 March 2020, the first three known cases were reported by the country’s epidemiology institute, IEDCR.
