Unprofessional conduct: Three policemen suspended in city

Three policemen of Jatrabari police station have been suspended on the charge of Unprofessional conduct while trying to catch the accused at Bibirbagicha in Jatrabari area of the capital. Besides, it is recommended to take departmental action against one Ansar member.
The suspended are sub-inspector Biswajit Sarkar, constables Md. Shawkat Ali and Nabaneeta Bonsen.
According to sources, the three policemen and an Ansar member conducted a raid at Bibirbagicha area under Jatrabari Police Station.
CCTV footage of the incident showed constable Navneeta Bonsen is beating on a woman’s hand with a stick repeatedly. She was seen grabbing the throat and hair of that woman and torturing her.
Meanwhile, sub-inspector Biswajit Sarkar and constable Shawkat were beating a man while taking him down the stairs. Police have formed a three-member committee to investigate the matter.
Wari Division Deputy Commissioner Shah Iftekhar Ahmed confirmed that three policemen were suspended on Saturday.
