Shringla arrives on two-day visit

Indian Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla arrived Dhaka on Tuesday morning on a two-day official visit, the next day after Bangladesh and India celebrated the Maitri Diwas.

Bangladesh Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen received him (Shringla) upon his arrival at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, foreign ministry office source said.

The Indian foreign secretary is scheduled to call on Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday, according to a media release issued by Indian external affairs ministry.

Shringla is scheduled to call on Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen and meet his Bangladesh counterpart.

The Indian foreign secretary is also scheduled to call on Road Transport and Bridges Minister and Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader.

The visit will also help prepare the ground for the state visit of Indian President Shri Ram Nath Kovind to Bangladesh from December 15 to 17, said the release.
