Murad loses Awami League post too

Murad Hassan, state minister for information and broadcasting who has submitted his resignation earlier on Tuesday was suspended from his post in Jamalpur district Awami League committee.
The decision was came from a meeting of the Jamalpur district Awami League this afternoon, said a press release sent by the district unit.
Murad, who has been serving as the health affairs secretary of Jamalpur Awami League, has been relieved from the post for breaching party discipline, the release read.
The decision by the district committee will be sent to the AL central executive committee for final decision, added the release.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina yesterday asked the state minister to resign from the cabinet for his offensive remarks on women that sparked waves of criticism.
During an interview on the Facebook page of NahidRains Pictures, posted on social media on Saturday, the state minister made some offensive comments on BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, acting chairman Tarique Rahman and his daughter Zaima Rahman.
He then got embroiled in another controversy when an audio clip of a phone call between him and actor Emon and actress Mahi leaked and went viral on social media.
Meanwhile, the High Court today ordered BTRC to remove all videos and audio of Murad's offensive comments from online platforms and social media within 24 hours.
