President accepts Murad’s resignation letter

President Abdul Hamid accepted the resignation letter of State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murad Hassan on Tuesday night.
A gazette notification, signed by Md Kamal Hossain, secretary (coordination and reforms) of the Cabinet Secretary (routine duty), was published in this regard.
The notification mentioned that the resignation letter of Murad Hassan will be effective immediately.
State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Murad was controversial for speaking out on various issues.
On Monday, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina ordered him to resign. Awami League General Secretary Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader announced the Prime Minister's directive at a press conference.
Earlier in the afternoon, Murad Hassan sent a letter of resignation to his office. But the resignation letter could not be submitted to the cabinet department as it was incorrect and scanned.
Murad later sent another resignation letter to his office. Mohammad Gias Uddin, Murad Hassan's public relations officer, took the resignation letter to the cabinet department at around 3:15pm and submitted it to the cabinet secretary’s private secretary.
The resignation letter was then sent to the President for approval. With the approval of the President, the notification was issued regarding the resignation of Murad Hassan at night.
