No need to import sacrificial animals: Minister

Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim on Wednesday said there is no need to import sacrificial animals from abroad as the country has sufficient number of animals for Eid-ul-Azha.

Rezaul Karim also said necessary steps been taken to tackle cattle smuggling ahead of Eid. He said in an inauguration function of ACI Limited in Sreepur upazila of the district this noon.

President of ACI Agro Business Dr FH Ansari, Sreepur Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Toriqul Islam, Additional Police Super Farjana Yasmin, President of Sreepur Upazila AL, Humayan Kabir Himu and General Secretary of Gazipur district owners of dairy farms Shahinur Islam were present.

The Minister hoped that Bangladesh would be able to produce improved verities of animal like Australia, New Zealand, Bulgaria and Brazil in the function.
