9 to die, 22 get life for killing Rajshahi BCL leader

A Rajshahi court has sentenced nine people to death and 22 to life imprisonment in a case filed over the murder of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leader Shahen Shah.
The court of Rajshahi Metropolitan Session Judge announced the verdict on Thursday.
The nine convicts who were sentenced death penalty are-- Md Monsur Rahman, Hasanuzzaman Himel, Taufiqul Islam Chand, Md Mohasin, Md Sairul, Rajab, Biplob, Md Momin, and Md Ariful Islam.
According to the case statement, on August 28, 2013, Shahen Shah, a trainee lawyer and the former general secretary of Rajshahi Court College BCL, was killed in an attack by miscreants.
Nahid Akter Nahan, a Jubo League leader, filed a murder case with Rajpara Police Station the next day.
Later, SI Moniruzzaman, IO of the case, filed a charge sheet with the court against 31 people.
