Onion-laden truck overturns on Padma Bridge, six injured

Six people were injured as onion-laden truck overturned at Mawa-end of the Padma Bridge this afternoon (June 27, 2022).
The accident happened when the truck driver lost control over the wheels following brake failure near Mawa toll plaza around 5:00pm.
The injured were taken to Srinagar Upazila Health Complex in Munshiganj.
The truck was coming from Shariatpur's Jazira and heading towards Dhaka's Shyampur through Padma Bridge.
The truck owner Shahed said, “We were going to Shyambazar in Dhaka with 134 sacks of onions from Faridpur. The driver lost the control over the steering at Mawa-end and hit the railing of the bridge and overturned.”
