Deputy Speaker Fazle Rabbi Miah laid to rest in Gaibandha

Deputy Speaker Md Fazle Rabbi Miah was laid to eternal rest at his family graveyard in Gaibandha on Monday afternoon.
He was buried at 6 pm at Gatia village of Saghata upazila in Gaibandha after a third Namaz-e-Janaza.
His mortal remains were brought to Bonarpara Kazi Azahar Ali High School premises in Gaibandha around 2 pm by a helicopter of armed forces from Dhaka airport.
A flight of Emirates Airlines carrying Fazle Rabbi’s body from New York reached Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 8:40 am on Monday morning. His first Namaz-e-Janaza was held at the National Eidgah premises around 10:30am.
His body was kept at Bharatkhali High School premises in Saghata upazila for people to pay their last tributes where his second Namaz-e-Janaza was held. He was paid a guard of honor by police and local government there.
Then his body was later taken to his ancestral home at Gotia village for another Namaz-e-Janaza before the burial.
The Deputy Speaker was buried beside his two sons’ graves at the family graveyard in his village.
Advocate Fazle Rabbi breathed his last on July 22 at 3.55pm (NY Time) at Mt Sinai Hospital in New York. He was 76.
