4 killed as BRT project girder falls on car in Uttara

At least Four people including a children were killed and two were injured after a girder of the under construction Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project fell on a private car in the city's Uttara area on Monday afternoon.
The deceased are Rubel (50), Jharna (28), Jannat (6) and Zakaria (2). The injured Hriday and Rhea Moni were sent to a local hospital. All of the victims were occupants of the car.
The incident took place in front of Arong in Uttara Jasim Uddin area around 5:15 pm on Monday (15 August).
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Uttara West Police Station Md Mohsin said that in the afternoon, a girder of the under-construction BRT project fell on a private car from a crane. 4 passengers of the private car were killed. 2 people were injured. They were sent to the hospital.
