EVM to be used in maximum 150 seats in next election: EC

The Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) will be used in maximum 150 constituencies In the upcoming 12th National Assembly elections.
This decision was taken at the commission meeting on Tuesday. After the meeting, additional secretary of the commission, Ashok Kumar Debnath told this information to the journalists.
Before that, EC said political parties have both objections and support for the use of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).
On Monday, the EC sent a summary in this regard to 28 registered political parties, law ministry, home ministry, public administration ministry, finance ministry, defense ministry, top officials of the Prime Minister's office and concerned.
