New Deputy Speaker Shamsul Haque Tuku

Shamsul Haque Tuku MP is the new Deputy Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad. This information has been confirmed by the Parliament Secretariat.
According to sources, although many names are being discussed, the government is choosing Shamsul Haque Tuku as the new Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly. The Parliament Secretariat has already been instructed to prepare all the related documents.
According to a source in the Parliament, the Chief Whip of the Parliament Noor-e Alam Chowdhury called Shamsul Haque Tuku to prepare and come to the Parliament by 10 am on Sunday. He has also been asked to bring preparations from Ganabhaban.
The Deputy Speaker will be appointed at the beginning of the 19th session of the 11th National Parliament on Sunday (August 28). Then at 7 in the evening, the newly elected Deputy Speaker will be sworn in by the President Abdul Hamid.
By the way, since the death of Deputy Speaker Advocate Md. Fazle Rabbi Mia, discussions have started on who will be the new Deputy Speaker. Shamsul Haque Tuku was ahead in the race even though many names were discussed. In the end, he is going to sit on the seat of Deputy Speaker.
Shamsul Haque Tuku elected Awami League Member of Parliament from Pabna. He was elected Member of Parliament with the boat symbol in the 2009, 2014 and last 2018 elections. From 2009-2014 he served as the State Minister of Home Affairs of the Awami League government led by Sheikh Hasina. Currently he is serving as the President of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the same Ministry.
