Shamsul Haque Tuku elected new Deputy Speaker

Pabna 1 Awami League lawmaker Shamsul Haque Tuku has been elected as the new Deputy Speaker of the 11th National Parliament on Sunday.
The Deputy Speaker has been appointed at the beginning of the 19th session of the 11th National Parliament on Sunday (August 28). He succeeded the late Md Fazle Rabbi Miah.
By the way, since the death of Deputy Speaker Advocate Md. Fazle Rabbi Mia, discussions have started on who will be the new Deputy Speaker. Shamsul Haque Tuku was ahead in the race even though many names were discussed. In the end he sat on the seat of Deputy Speaker.
Shamsul Haque Tuku elected Awami League Member of Parliament from Pabna. He was elected Member of Parliament with the boat symbol in the 2009, 2014 and last 2018 elections. From 2009-2014 he served as the State Minister of Home Affairs of the Awami League government led by Sheikh Hasina. Currently he is serving as the President of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the same Ministry.
President Abdul Hamid will administer the oath to the newly elected Deputy Speaker at 7 pm today.
