Schoolboy killed in Tejgaon: Students block Farmgate

Students of Government Science School and College on Monday blocked roads in Dhaka’s Farmgate area, demanding safe roads and protesting the death of a fellow student in a road accident in Tejgaon area yesterday.

They took to the street at 11am holding placards " We want safe road" and blocked Farmgate main road demanding safe road and justice. Some other students of different schools and collges in and around the area joined with them. One side of the busy road came to a stand still following the blockade.

Later, they went to Bijoy Sarani and sit-in there.

To take the situation under control, Tejgaon zone ADC Robayet Hasan said they and the college teachers manged to take the students to Farmgate. The protesting students staged the demonstration till 1pm.

On Sunday (September 11), Md Ali Hossain, 17, a student of Class X at Government Science School and College at Tejgaon, was killed after a bus ran over him when he was going to his school.
