Indian President leaves after 3-day visit

Indian President Ram Nath Kovind left Dhaka for New Delhi on Friday afternoon after wrapping up his eventful three-day state visit.
Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen saw the Indian President off at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 12.45pm, a foreign ministry official said.
The President came to Dhaka on Wednesday on a three-day visit to join the birth centenary celebrations of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the Golden Jubilee celebration of Bangladesh's Independence.
Indian President Ram Nath Kovind paid rich tributes to the memory of the martyrs of the Liberation War in 1971 at the National Memorial at Savar on the outskirts of the capital.
He also made a courtesy call on President M Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina met the Indian President at a city hotel during the visit.
