State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid on Monday said power supply problem is temporary.
“We wanted there to be no load shedding from October but we could not do that. Because, we could not bring gas. The problem is temporary,” he told the reporters at his ministry office here.
Nasrul said the government thought that the energy crisis would be temporary but it went difficult to bring gas, because the world situation has turned different again.
He said some power plants were shut down during the day due to load shedding, while some were running during at night, he said adding, “That's why the place of load shedding has become a little bigger.”
The state minister said, "Hopefully, it will be a little better from next month.”
Replying to a question, he said that the situation would be normal from November.
“I expect that the situation to be better from end of October. But the demand in the industry sector has increased. So we have reduced gas supply to the generation of electricity,” Nasrul added.
He also urged everyone to be patient, as efforts were underway to improve the situation.
