40th BCS gazette published, 1,929 recruit in different cadres

The gazette notification of 40th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination was published, appointing a total of 1,929 candidates to different cadres.
In the final recruitment, 34 people were dropped from the list recommended by the Public Service Commission (PSC).
The Ministry of Public Administration issued the notification today (November 1, 2022).
On September 11, 2018, PSC released the 40th BCS recruitment circular. 4 lakh 12 thousand 532 candidates applied. The preliminary exam was held on 3 May 2019. 3 lakh 27 thousand candidates participated. In the results published on July 25 of that year, 20 thousand 277 candidates passed the preliminary.
The written exam starts in January 2020 and ends in February. But due to the corona epidemic, other activities including account viewing are interrupted. As a result, the results of the written examination were published on January 27 last year after a delay of almost a year. 10 thousand 964 people passed it.
Later PSC changed the schedule of viva exam five times due to corona situation. The final result was declared on March 30 this year. In this, PSC recommended 1,963 people for appointment in various cadres.
