2 die of Covid-19, new cases 382 in 24 hours

Two people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8:00am on Thursday (December 23), according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The total number of deaths has now reached 28,054 and the death rate stands at 1.77 percent.
A total of 382 new infections were recorded in the meantime, taking the total number of people infected to 15,82,368, the new release added.
The current positivity rate is 1.95 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.95 percent. Some 19,624 samples were tested across the country during this time.
Besides, a total of 312 Covid-19 patients have recovered in this period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 15,46,664 and the recovery rate at 97.74 percent.
The two deceased were male and aged between 31-60 years, it added.
