Janaza of 30 launch fire victims held in Barguna

The Namaz-e-Janaza of 30 victims, who died in the fire on Barguna-bound launch MV Abhijan-10, was held on the premises of Barguna Circuit House on Saturday morning.
After the janaza around 11:30am, the bodies were taken for burial at Potkakhali near the circuit house.
Sources said the bodies reached Barguna General Hospital from Jhalakathi under the supervision of Barguna district administration around 11:30pm Friday.
Five of the bodies have been identified till this morning, and four were handed over to family members.
Earlier in the day, Barguna Civil Surgeon Dr Maria Hasan told the media that the bodies were kept in the morgue of Barguna General Hospital last night and those will remain in the morgue for identification till 10:00am.
Barguna Deputy Commissioner Habibur Rahman said, “Relatives have been requested to identify the bodies at the hospital.”
He also said a control room has been opened in the district regarding the fire incident on the launch.
