A clash ensued between BNP leaders-activists and police in front of the party's Nayapaltan office on Wednesday afternoon as tension mounts over the venue for the party's mass rally in the capital on December 10.
BNP leaders and activists have took position in Nayapaltan since morning. As police tried to remove them from there, a fisticuffs took place between the party men and the police personnel.
To disperse them, police fired tear gas shells and rubber bullets. Then, the BNP men chased police with sticks which created a tense situation in the area.
