Paturia-Daulatdia ferry movement resumed after 4 hours

The ferry movement between Paturia-Daulatdia was resumed after about four hours which was disrupted due to dense fog.
Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC), Paturia ghat Deputy General Manager Md. Khaled Newaz said the ferry movement was suspended at about 5.30 am on Thursday due poor visibility as the dense fog blanketed the river root.
During this period four ferries were anchored at Paturia ghat and six others at Daulatdia with vehicles and passengers, adding that two ferries were stranded in the middle of the river Padma loading with vehicles and passengers. All kinds of engine driven boats and launches were also suspended during the periods.
At about 9.20 am the ferry movement started when the fog disappeared.
DGM Md. Khaled Newaz said there was no traffic congestion as there was no rush of vehicles, adding that the ferry movement is normal.
