21st parliament session to continue till Feb 9

The 21st session of the 11th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) that began on Thursday will continue till February 9.
The decision was taken at the 11th meeting of the Business Advisory Committee of the House at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban today with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.
However, the Speaker can change the duration of the session, if necessary.
Committee member Leader of the House and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina attended the meeting and conveyed greetings of the English New Year to all.
Other members, including leader of the opposition in Parliament Begum Raushan Ershad, Amir Hossain Amu, Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, Obaidul Quader, Rashed Khan Menon, Hasanul Haq Inu, deputy speaker Md Samsul Haque Tuku, Anisul Huq, Ghulam Muhammed Quader, Anisul Islam Mahmud and Chief Whip Noor-E-Alam Chowdhury attended the meeting.
The meeting decided that the House would sit at 4.15pm on every working day. It also decided to hold a special discussion on the occasion of Bangabandhu's Homecoming Day on January 10.
It decided to hold a special session in April marking the 50 years of the Jatiya Sangsad. President M Abdul Hamid will address the session and discussion will take place on the thanks-giving motion.
The committee was informed that some 73 questions were received for the Prime Minister's answer, while 1854 questions were received for responding by minister/state ministers.
Besides, a total of 34 important notices under section 71 of the rules of procedure were received, the committee was not get any notice from private members.
Senior Secretary of the Jatiya Sangsad KM Abdus Salam conducted the meeting.
