Ferry movement suspended on Paturia-Daulatdia ghat

The Ferry movement in between Aricha-Kazirhat isn’t remaining suspended from 4 am and Paturia-Daulatdia in the Padma has been remaining suspended from 5.4 am on Thursday, due to dense fog.

“Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC)" Paturia Ghat Deputy General Manager (DGM) Shah Mohammad Khaled Newaz said BSS.

Officials said the fog simultaneously forced suspension of movement of other vessels like engine-run country boats and launches  both the river routes.

BIWTC, DGM Khaled Newaz said two ferries Shah Jalal and Chandra Mollika remaining at Paturia Ghat two ferries Khan Jahan Ali and Shah Mokdum are on the middle stream of the Padma and Seven ferries Birshreshtha Ruhul Amin, Shah Poran, Shaheed Borkat, Hasna Hena, Birshreshtha Jahangir, Rojonigandha and Bonolota are at Daulatdia Ghat.

Besides, a maize loaded truck coming from Kazirhat plunged in the river Jamuna at Aricha Ghat when it was unloading. DGM Khaled Newaz said,adding that the rescue operation is continuing.
