4 arrested over Rampur bus fire: RAB

The law enforcers have arrested four persons, including the main perpetrator Monir Hossain, in connection with a case filed for torching buses in Rampura.
RAB’s legal and media wing assistant director ANM Imran Khan said; “We have picked Monir and his three accomplices over the incident of vandalising buses and setting fire on those on the Rampur Bridge in the capital following the death of a student in a bus accident.
They were arrested from different areas of Dhaka and Cumilla.
RAB will address a media conference about the arrests at its media centre in Karwan Bazar at 2:30pm.
On 29 November, school student Mainuddin Islam was killed as a bus ran over him during the students’ movement demanding road safety, half fare in public transports and a few other demands in Rampura Bridge area in the capital.
Deceased Mainuddin Islam was a student of Ekramunnesa School and College in Rampura.
Following the incident, agitated people vandalised a few buses and set fire to those. Police filed a lawsuit over the incident.
