The authorities of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (Kuet) have expelled four students, including Sadman Nahiyan Sejan, general secretary of the university unit of BCL, in connection with the death of Prof Md Selim Hossain.

Kuet's Public Relations Officer Rabiul Islam Shohag confirmed the news.

Prof Md Selim Hossain, 38, provost of Lalon Shah Hall of KUET, was found dead at his residence on November 30 last year. Without autopsy, his body was buried at Banshgram village in Kushtia.

General students and teachers alleged that BCL activists tortured him mentally over the selection of the dining manager for December of the Lalon Shah Hall.

Later, Prof Selim's father Shukur Ali demanded proper investigation, saying that his son might have been murdered.

Body of Prof Selim Hossain was exhumed from his grave in Kushtia's Kumarkhali upazila on December 15 in presence of a magistrate.
