President Abdul Hamid offers Eid prayers at the National Eidgah

President Abdul Hamid today offered his Eid-ul-Fitr prayers at the National Eidgah in the morning.
It is the last time for Abdul Hamid to offer Eid prayers at the National Eidgah as the president of Bangladesh.
The main Eid jamaat (congregation) was held on the National Eidgah premises at 8:30 am.
Chief justice, cabinet members, Supreme Court judges, lawmakers, senior political leaders also offered Eid prayers to the president.
President Hamid exchanged Eid greetings at the Eidgah after the prayers.
The president usually attends the traditional Eid prayers in th capital’s National Eidgah but in the last three years, it was scrapped due to the pandemic.
Khatib of the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Mufti Ruhul Amin Faridpuri conducted the Eid prayers.
A special munajat was offered seeking divine blessings for peace and progress of Bangladesh and welfare of the people as well as the Muslim ummah.
Special prayers were also offered seeking eternal peace of the martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the county and its people in different democratic movements, particularly during the Liberation War in 1971.
Dua was also offered seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of the Father of Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family members, who faced martyrdom on the fateful night of August 15 in 1975.
The Eid jamaat was held under the auspices of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC). Special arrangements were made for women to offer Eid prayers at the National Eidgah.
