Govt's people breaking the elections rule: EC Alamgir

Election Commissioner (EC) Alamgir said that although the Election Commission has asked everyone to follow the rules of conduct of the elections, it is observed that the people of the government are breaking the rules. He said we expect more responsible behavior from those in government.
EC Alamgir came up with this to reporters at his office in Agargaon election building in the capital on Sunday.
He said all the candidates have been asked to follow the code of conduct. They are obliged to comply. We request everyone to follow the rules.
Still, there is a trend of disobeying the code of conduct among some candidates or candidates' well-wishers.
In the interest of fair elections, we will give a letter to the Cabinet Secretary, he should request the Ministers, State Ministers, Members of Parliament with the consent of the appropriate authorities not to break any such code of conduct.
He also said that since the government party is Awami League, we will request the general secretary of this party to follow the code of conduct.
