EC 'very satisfied' over Azmat Ullah's explanation

Election commission (EC) has very 'satisfied' with the explanation of Azmat Ullah, the mayoral candidate of the ruling party Awami League in the Gazipur City Corporation elections on allegations of violating electoral code of conduct.
Chief election commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal said this while talking to journalists on Sunday at Nirbachan Bhaban in Agargaon of Dhaka.
CEC said, "We have not taken any decision. He (Azmat Ullah) expressed his sorrow with great humility. He said, due to ignorance, some such mistakes have been made. A couple of meetings were held outside the constituency of the City Corporation. We are initially very satisfied with his statement, the CEC added.
Azmat Ulla appeared at the Agargaon election building in the capital on Sunday to explain himself about breaking the election code of conduct. CEC said these things in response to the questions of the journalists after knowing his explanation.
Azmat Ullah claimed to the media that he clarified his stance to the EC. He didn't violate any electoral code of conduct. He will abide by whatever decision will be given by the commission. However, he promised not to make any mistakes in the future.
