Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen on Monday said foreign doctors can be brought for the treatment of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.
“If Khaleda Zia wants to go abroad for treatment, she has to follow legal process in this case,” he said.
The foreign minister came up with the observation while taking to journalists after briefing foreign diplomats at the state guesthouse Padma in Dhaka.
Momen said the medical documents have already been sent abroad and foreign doctors can come to Bangladesh for her treatment.
He told diplomats that the government is committed to free, fair and transparent elections in Bangladesh.
The minister referred to the UP elections that he said were held fairly.
He added: “There was some violence in the elections due to over-enthusiasm of some people.”
He also spoke to the diplomats on Rohingya crisis, their relocation to Bhasan Char, and World Peace Conference to be held on December 4-5.
Saudi Transport Minister Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, who also had a bilateral meeting with Foreign Minister Momen, said that at least 30 Saudi private companies are interested to invest in Bangladesh.
