Newly-elected UP member shot dead in Jashore

A recently elected member of Shundoli Union Parishad in Jashore has beenshot dead by a gang of miscreants.
The deceased is-- Uttam Kumar Sarkar, son of Oshantu Sarkar of Harishpur village in the Sundoli upazila.
Confirming the news, Md Shamim, officer-in-charge of Abhaynagar police station, said: “The incident occurred at 8:30 pm on Monday near Harishpur Government Primary School.”
Quoting locals, he added that some miscreants attacked Uttam while heading toward his home from Sundoli Bazar. They shot him on chest, leaving him dead on the spot.
Earlier on December 26, Uttam was elected member of ward-1 of the Sundoli UP.
