Fakhrul calls on Quader to join BNP

Criticizing Obaidul Quader's statement that the BNP will come to the polls to protect its existence, the BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, "If he wants to take a decision of BNP, Obaidul Quader must first join the BNP and take responsibility."
"We have made it very clear that the BNP will not go to the polls under the current illegitimate Sheikh Hasina government," Fakhrul said.
This government must be handed over to a neutral government and only after the formation of a neutral election commission under a neutral government will there be an opportunity for free, fair and credible elections, he said.
Mirza Fakhrul made the remarks at a press conference after a joint central meeting of the party in Naya Paltan on Tuesday (May 10).
